Heritage Midwifery LLC (“Heritage Midwifery,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a midwifery clinic owned by Helen Barlow, located at 1065 N Hildale St, Hildale, UT 84784. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and how our text messaging (SMS) program works.
1. Who we text and why
We send text messages only to our own patients and their families. We text about:
- Appointments and appointment reminders
- Care questions
- Pregnancy and labor updates, including when to come to the birth center
- Replies to messages patients send us
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
2. How you opt in to texts
You give us your mobile phone number and agree to receive texts from us in one of two ways:
- When you register as a patient with our clinic, or
- By texting our clinic first.
Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of receiving care.
3. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Your name and contact details, such as your mobile phone number
- Your consent (opt-in) to receive text messages, and your opt-out requests
- The content of text messages you send to us and that we send to you
- Appointment details, such as dates and times
4. How we use your information
We use this information only to:
- Schedule appointments, send reminders, and answer care, pregnancy, and labor questions
- Respond to your messages and questions
- Keep a record of your texting preferences, including opt-ins and opt-outs
- Provide care and run our clinic
5. We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile number
We will not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We may use trusted service providers (for example, our phone and texting provider) only to deliver our messages to you. They may use your information only to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information when required by law.
6. How to stop texts (opt out)
You can stop receiving text messages at any time. Reply STOP to any message from us. We will send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts unless you opt in again. To start receiving texts again, reply START.

8. Rates and frequency
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. How often you receive messages depends on your appointments and your conversations with us.
9. Carrier disclaimer
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
10. Your health information
We handle your health information confidentially, consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable laws. Text messages are not always fully secure, so please keep sensitive details to a minimum when texting us.
11. Emergencies
Do not use text messages for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 right away.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the effective date above.
